As part of our ongoing programs to empower and support the educational sector in Sinjar and to activate the role of teachers and educators in society, the House of Coexistence (HOC) organized an intensive educational week on peace education and how educators can address conflicts and hate speech both in schools and at the community level.
The training program covered five key topics:
- Day One: Building Peace after Conflicts
- Day Two: Elements of Peace Building
- Day Three: Conflict and Dispute in Diverse Societies
- Day Four: Hate Speech – Types, Sources, and Ways to Confront It
- Day Five: Dialogue as a Mechanism for Building Peace
The first batch of the training course, which included thirty teachers, was conducted with the kind support of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria, Germany.
