As part of our series of programs to empower and support the educational sector in Sinjar and to activate the role of teachers and educators in society, the House of Coexistence (HOC) provided an intensive educational week on peace education and how educators can address conflicts and hate speech in schools and at the community level.
The training program covered five key topics:
- Day One: Building Peace after Conflicts
- Day Two: Elements of Peacebuilding
- Day Three: Conflict and Dispute in Diverse Societies
- Day Four: Hate Speech – Its Types, Sources, and Mechanisms to Confront It
- Day Five: Dialogue as a Mechanism for Building Peace
The first batch of the training course, including thirty teachers, was successfully implemented with the generous support of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria, Germany.
