Mrs. Hewan Omer has emerged as one of the Yezidi woman activist who have been working in the humanitarian field since the time of the genocide. As the Country Director of the Free Yezidi Foundation, she has overseen several programs that supported nearly one thousand women through trauma treatment, education, and livelihood services. Her work has strengthened community resilience by creating safe, modern, and equitable spaces for women. Through her advocacy efforts, Hewan has become one of the voices of Sinjar’s women, calling for Yezidi rights, justice, and women’s empowerment.
