He was the commander of the aviation efforts overseeing the delivery of humanitarian aid to Mount Sinjar, and he contributed to transporting thousands of displaced people and wounded individuals when the mountain was besieged in 2014. Thanks to his and his team’s efforts, this aid was delivered despite extremely difficult flight conditions. The Major General Ahmed made exceptional humanitarian contributions during times of crisis and played a direct role in protecting and saving civilians and those affected by the genocide.
He also risked his life to rescue the people and survived a helicopter crash with severe injuries.
