House of Coexistence (HOC) organized an event at its center in Sinuni, Sinjar, in partnership with the International Rescue Committee (IRC) and with support from the UK government (UKAID), titled:
“Opportunity Begins with Connection – Professional Networking in Sinjar”
The event aimed to create a shared space to transform ideas into practical projects and to build effective professional relationships that lead to tangible results on the ground.
More than 60 participants attended, including representatives of local and community-based organizations, companies, medical complexes, psychological support centers, government institutions such as the Social Welfare Department, as well as activists, media professionals, and entrepreneurs from Sinjar.
The event featured interactive discussions and dialogue sessions covering key topics such as legal and administrative aspects of running private businesses, ways to develop professional skills, job search strategies, and an overview of the labor market in Sinjar, including its challenges and opportunities. The event concluded with a set of joint recommendations developed by the participants.
This initiative aims to promote a culture of professional networking, support local initiatives, and empower participants to build partnerships that contribute to job creation and sustainable economic development in the region.
