How Do We Work?

Promoting Unity

At its core, the HOC is envisioned as a nexus of cooperation among international NGOs, UN agencies, and local NGOs. By creating a humanitarian cluster and civil society network, the HOC amplifies its impact and enhances its offerings to the people of Shamal District. The center’s facilities encompass training and course rooms, therapeutic and care units tailored to the needs of survivors, ushering in a new era of support and rejuvenation.

Holistic Approach

Diversity thrives within the HOC’s walls, uniting individuals from varied backgrounds who have never before had access to such a comprehensive infrastructure. The center’s mission extends beyond its role as a cultural and educational hub; it emerges as a secure haven for trauma survivors and a platform for reconciliation initiatives, particularly involving youth from diverse communities.

Green Memorial Garden and Museum

Embedded within the HOC is a verdant memorial garden, an emblem of Iraq’s cultural, religious, and ethnic diversity. This peaceful oasis not only champions Sustainable Development Goals and environmental consciousness but also houses a future museum. This museum, if funding permits, will narrate the intricate tapestry of Iraq’s religious and ethnic mosaic, paying homage to both the resilience and the struggles of different groups, particularly within the Sinjar region.

Inspiring Coexistence

Through a rich array of cultural events, workshops, seminars, and courses, the House of Coexistence endeavors to champion diversity and peaceful coexistence, thereby contributing to the nurturing of an inclusive society. Scheduled to open its doors in July 2022, the HOC stands poised to usher in a new era of unity and shared understanding.
