Driven by its commitment to addressing the impacts of climate change and its direct effects on environmental peace in Sinjar, particularly on farmers’ livelihoods, the House of Coexistence (HOC), in collaboration with the International Rescue Committee (IRC UK), launched a community advocacy campaign to raise awareness about climate change and promote its role in fostering environmental stability.

As part of the campaign, an awareness session was held at the HOC center, bringing together youth, farmers, and women to explore the link between climate change and local community stability.

Additionally, the second round of cash assistance was distributed to farmers in Sinjar under a targeted program coordinated with the IRC. Each beneficiary received 300,000 IQD to help cope with the increasing challenges caused by climate change.

This initiative is part of the “Building Peace and Stability in Iraq” program, implemented by the House of Coexistence in partnership with the IRC and funded by UKAID.

Together, we work towards a more informed and resilient community in the face of environmental challenges 🌱🌍
