The Peace Committees of the House of Coexistence (HoC), in partnership with the International Rescue Committee (IRC) and with support from the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (UKAID), organized an initiative in Sinjar to celebrate persons with disabilities as part of the Peace and Stability Program in Iraq.
The initiative included a recognition ceremony honoring people with disabilities, presentations of their inspiring success stories, and an exhibition of their artwork showcasing creativity and resilience. In coordination with the Naseem Sinjar Organization for Disability Care, 50 wheelchairs were distributed to beneficiaries.
The event aimed to promote diversity and inclusion, encourage community support for the rights of persons with disabilities, and strengthen mutual respect and social stability in the region.
