The House of Coexistence (HOC) invites all civil society organizations, community activists, tribal leaders, and advocacy groups concerned with Sinjar and its people’s future to participate in a signature campaign demanding the separation of the Sinjar Reconstruction Fund from the Nineveh Plains Reconstruction Fund and its activation locally and internationally.

It is widely recognized that the combined Reconstruction Fund for Sinjar and the Nineveh Plains, established to rebuild areas affected by ISIS, has remained largely inactive, underfunded, and ineffective for multiple reasons, including the merging of the two regions’ funds. Each region has its own unique needs, priorities, and characteristics, which require separate and targeted management supported by the government and local authorities.

We call on all active community members, organizations, and leaders to contribute their signature to an official petition addressed to both the governorate and central government authorities, demanding:

  • Separation of the Sinjar Reconstruction Fund from the Nineveh Plains fund
  • Local and international support for both funds to serve the people of these areas

Those wishing to sign, whether personally or on behalf of an organization, can send their name, title, or organization’s name to: [email protected]

Alternatively, names can be added in the comments. The list of supporters will be updated until August 31, 2025, after which the official petition will be issued in coordination with the signatories before submission to the relevant executive and legislative authorities.

The petition will represent the voices of the Sinjari community and friends of Sinjar.
